Tracey Tutt
Tracey specialises in Animation, particularly stop-motion, both fabrication (model and set making) and creative filming techniques and post-production, coupled with knowing how to both record and mix good quality audio and sound, she looks after the Animation and Sound Studios within her Media Technician role. Highly skilled in various industry animation software and the full Adobe Suite, Tracey marries practical creativity and technical knowledge to cover most projects from first sketch to final film.
I first studied in Plymouth on a Photography, Film and TV course, where we were given a16mm Bolex to play with and I fell in love with the art of stop-motion animation.
But after that the only place that did a Degree where I could specialise in Animation (hidden within the Graphic Design course) was Norwich, and I’ve lived and worked in Norfolk ever since.
For over 20 years I have drawn, filmed, illustrated, designed and animated for publications and events for a wide range of companies, such as NNUH, JIC, Archant/EDP, CCN and the UEA.
I’ve freelanced video production, brochures and logos, photography, stop-motion post-production and created Twitch graphics.
I’ve always been happy to teach others and pass on my knowledge, I’ve been an AQA assessor, a lecturer and now as part of the Media Team I get to utilise all that I’ve learnt and pass that onto the students.
My interest in experimentation within both software and practical techniques still grows and after working for many years I returned to Norwich University of the Arts to play with interactive sculpture, animation and Augmented Reality in my MA.
I love to problem-solve and have a wealth of experience to draw on, so come ask me a question!
