BA (Hons) Photography student selected for the Canon Student Development Programme
Third-year student Jason Stirland has been selected by industry professionals from the likes of AFP, Getty Images and Reuters to take part in Canon’s international mentorship programme.
The Canon Student Development Programme gives students from around the globe the opportunity to meet leading industry experts, learn valuable skills from the industry and have their portfolios professionally assessed.
Based on portfolio submission, 100 students were selected by experts from top media agencies to receive individual mentorship from industry professionals, including Jérôme Sessini, Ilvy Njiokiktjien and Muhammed Muheisen.

Selected shortlisted students will then take part in exclusive workshops with top photographers and editors hosted in France and Spain, with finalists granted a place at the Hamburg Portfolio Review and the chance to receive further grant support and equipment from Canon.
BA (Hons) Photography student Jason Stirland, whose practice focuses on 3D site-mapping using photogrammetry, will work with his allocated mentor in the coming months to refine and support his portfolio development to be considered in the next stage of the competition.
