Norwich graduates nominated for RTS East Student Awards

Norwich University of the Arts graduates from BA (Hons) Animation and BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production have been nominated for a combined three Royal Television Society East Student Awards.

The Curse of Dracular has been nominated in the Animation category and for Craft Award – Production Design, whilst documentary Love, Me has been nominated in the Factual – Short Form category.

A nomination for an RTS (Royal Television Society) award is a wonderful industry recognition for the hard work of young filmmakers and artists, and can open doors for new and emerging voices. RTS East Student Awards celebrate the best in student filmmaking across the eastern region.

BA (Hons) Animation graduate Jack Paterson’s The Curse of Dracular takes a story originally written by his father when he was nine years old and reimagines it in stop motion animation. His father’s ‘terrifying’ horror story is illustrated and acted word for word, complete with Mr. Philips, played by ‘Peter Cushing’ and ‘Dracula Christopher Lee’.

Love, Me is a sensitive documentary exploring mental health and the effects of trauma, told through the words of three contributors. The film was directed and produced by Holly Donoghue, the director of photography was Luther M E Bottrill, the production designer was Sam James and the editor was Jack Williams, all graduates from BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production.
