How to submit your portfolio to us
Your portfolio is an important part of your application. It helps us see your ideas, creativity and potential, and gives you the opportunity to talk about the work you’re most proud of.
We recommend joining us on campus for your portfolio review if you can. It’s a great way to meet our academics and current students, explore our facilities and get personalised feedback on your work.
If visiting isn’t possible, you can still upload your portfolio online so we can review it as part of your application.
You can choose to show your work in person or upload it online:
Option 1: In-person portfolio review (January – March)
This option is your chance to visit our campus and to discuss your work face to face. You’ll meet with one of our academic reviewers and current students for a relaxed and friendly review.
During your session, you’ll be asked to talk about around three pieces of your work. You can bring your portfolio in digital or physical form. Digital work can be shown on your own device or from a USB stick.
Attending in person gives you the chance to experience the university, see our studios, and meet the people who could be part of your creative future. It’s also a great way to build confidence and get direct feedback on your work.
We know that visiting universities can be expensive, so we have a travel fund to help if you live over 50 miles away. Find out more about the Travel Bursary.
Option 2: Upload your portfolio. (November onwards)
If you would prefer not to have a group review, you can send us a link to your portfolio in our applicant portal. We will send you information about this once we have received your application from UCAS.
Your portfolio could be a Google Doc or Slides, a PDF document, a website, blog etc. Please ensure if you are sending something through Google Docs or SharePoint we have permission to view it – school or college accounts sometimes restrict 3rd parties from accessing documents, so please check your setting before you send it.
When do I send my portfolio?
If you would like to upload your portfolio, please send us the link as soon as possible and before the end of February (if you applied by 14 Jan.). If you submit after this date, send your portfolio in as soon as you can. Sometimes we’ll need a portfolio submitted quickly if there’s a UCAS set deadline approaching, but if you need more time, please let us know and we’ll try to help.
Any questions?
Please contact our admission team if you have any questions or issues with participating in the portfolio review and audition, we will work together to find a solution.
