Nathan Coley: schools workshop
Monday 21 May 2018
Accompanying the exhibition of work by Turner Prize nominee, sculptor Nathan Coley at East GalleryNUA and St Laurence’s Church, we are offering a schools workshop on Monday 21 May at 10.00am – 1.00pm and 1.30 – 4.30pm.
Text has be used by many artists for political and expressive reasons. Taking inspiration from Nathan Coley’s text pieces, students will be asked to select significant words and creatively convey their meaning to the viewer using a range of two and three dimensional materials. The results will allow the participants to debate their feelings and opinions about words and their meanings.
Age range: The workshop is aimed at students in year 12 or Level 3 first year students.
