Nurturing Bright Futures Online Teacher Conference

Held online by Norwich University of the Arts and University of East Anglia (UEA) NUA are pleased to be collaborating with UEA on their teacher and adviser conference: Nurturing Bright Futures.
This event is designed specifically for education professionals who work with sixth form students as they progress into higher education. The conference provides the latest information from HE experts, researchers and practitioners.

Thursday 4 June – join the UEA for the following sessions:
- An update on UCAS and the Higher Education landscape (Clare Marchant, UCAS Chief Executive)
- Future students: 20 must-know things to excite, challenge and terrify you (Jim Tudor, Future Index)
- Digital technology and transitions to Higher Education (Dr Harry Dyer, UEA)
- Things I Wish I’d Known (Panel of UEA Students)
- Q&A session with our expert Admissions panel
Friday 5 June – join NUA for the following sessions:
10.00-11.20am – Intro to NUA & Tips for Teaching Creatively
Including information on NUA’s Teacher, Technician and Adviser’s online workshop series.
11.30-12.30am – Character Design workshop
Led by Jon Dunleavy, Lecturer in BA Animation, you will explore the processes that underpin good character design, not only for animation but also other mediums such as illustration and games design.
This workshop can be used across other subject areas, for example to encourage young people to engage with what life would be like in certain periods of history or living in different countries.
2-3pm Jess Nash Poster Design Workshop
An Illustration workshop based on a commission by Penguin Random House UK to design posters celebrating 70 years of Windrush contributions to the UK.
This workshop demonstrates how different subjects such as social history, geography and art come together in one brief and can inspire your work as a creative professional. Jess will be setting and taking participants through the same brief.
