Paolozzi the printmaker: Gather, edit, republish
Friday 29 November 2019
1.30-2.30pm, East GalleryNUA As part of our East GalleryNUA exhibition Eduardo Paolozzi: General Dynamic F.U.N, we invite visitors to hear a short talk from BA (Hons) Fine Art Course Leader Carl Rowe.
Eduardo Paolozzi was an inveterate collector of ephemera. For him, the pages of a clothing or stationary catalogue, the cover of a science-fiction magazine, a press photograph or an advert for peanuts, all represented the potential for a vibrant mirroring of society.
His ability to gather material, edit, rearrange and then re-publish is powerfully displayed through the numerous printmaking projects that he undertook.
This short talk will dig a deeper into the surreal visual representations and processes in Paolozzi’s printed work
