View our English language requirementsReference
We require a reference from your current or previous institution to support your application. The referee needs to indicate how long and in what capacity they have known you, as well as provide us their candid opinion of you and your suitability to undertake your proposed course of study. If you have been out of education for a few years, we may be able to accept a professional reference from your manager.
If you are applying directly, your reference must be emailed directly to us on ioadmissions@norwichuni.ac.uk from your previous institution. It must be dated, signed and on headed paper.
When do I apply?
We recommend that international applicants apply as soon as possible as scholarships and awards are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applying early will also give you time to fully prepare for your visa application and sort out your accommodation in Norwich. We accept applications until the end of August of the year of entry.
What happens after I apply?
You can usually expect to receive an outcome from us within 15 working days of submitting a completed application (i.e., after submitting your application form and portfolio). For postgraduate applications, our academics may request to meet with you to discuss your work and direction of study, in which case, we will reach out to arrange an interview. If this is not required, we will directly make you an offer of study.
You will receive either an unconditional or conditional offer.
An unconditional offer means you have met all our entry requirements. This is usually for students who have completed their prior level of study and provided their final transcripts or certificates.
A conditional offer will outline which conditions you need to meet in order to fully secure a place with us. We will usually hold your place until you are able to meet the required conditions within the deadlines set by the University.
If we are your top institution of choice to study at, you can choose to go firm with us. If you have applied via UCAS and firmly accepted a conditional offer, you can select a second institution of choice which is your insurance choice.
There are set dates by which you need to respond to your offer and these will be detailed in your offer letter.
If you choose not to accept your offer, you should formally decline our offer on the UCAS website for UCAS applicants or by emailing us at ioadmissions@norwichuni.ac.uk for direct applicants.
Once you have firmly accepted your offer, you will be eligible to apply for housing and start the process of applying for your CAS which is required for your Student visa application. We will send you guidance and more information at this stage, as well as invite you for webinars to help prepare you for your move to the UK.
