Bank Plain

Research and Knowledge Exchange is based at 20 Bank Plain, at the heart of our Norwich campus.

It hosts dedicated space for collaborative activity, with conference facilities as well as staff, researcher and PhD studios.

Immersive Visualisation and Simulation Lab

The Immersive Visualisation and Simulation Lab (IVSL) is a 360 degree LED volume with immersive sound, based at Havers Road.

The lab currently supports funded work exploring climate futures, virtual heritage, spatial computing, applied games, leading-edge approaches to virtual production and practice-based technology innovation for cultural organisations. It has been funded through the UKRI | AHRC Creative Research Capabilities (CResCa) world-class labs scheme.

 The IVSL features:

  • 4D Holysys Volumetric Capture System
  • 10m x 4m 360 degree LED volume with immersive sound
  • Programmable AI for audience interaction

Workshops

Our workshops, studios, media labs and creative spaces are equipped with industry standard equipment for various disciplines including film, sound design, animation, photography, fashion, textiles, design, printmaking and creative technology.
