Medical and health services

The National Health Service (NHS) provides health services in the UK and all students are entitled to treatment from the NHS, including Tier 4 visa holders who will have paid IHS fees as part of the immigration process.

We strongly encourage you to register with a local doctor as soon as you start your studies with us. This helps to make sure that you can see a doctor quickly if you fall ill or need routine medical care during the course of your studies.

Where should I register?

The University does not have a student health centre, however you can search for NHS surgeries to register with a doctor close to your home in Norwich.

If you need to see a doctor but haven’t had a chance to register, you can still go to the Norwich Walk-in Clinic on Rouen Road.

International students

Immunisations and vaccinations

It is good practice for students to be fully immunised in accordance with Department of Health recommendations. We advise that new students check their vaccination status via their GP practice before arrival at Norwich.

Providing medical/disability information to the University

As part of the online enrolment process, you’ll be asked to complete a medical/disability section. This confidential information is held within the Academic Registry and disclosed only with your permission to support your needs while studying at the University.

If you’re diagnosed with a medical condition or disability during your studies, we ask that you contact us to update your medical/disability status, and discuss any additional support you may require. Please email disability@norwichuni.ac.uk

COVID-19

To reduce the spread of flu viruses and COVID-19, we advise our community to maintain good hygiene practices on campus. We advise washing your hands regularly and covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

Mask wearing on campus is optional, however we strongly advise wearing one if you or a member of your household is showing signs and symptoms of flu or COVID-19.
