Maximise your Open Day: Essential student tips
Student Ambassador, Indianna Williams, shares her top tips for getting the most out of an Open Day experience.
If you’re coming to an Open Day at Norwich University of The Arts, make sure you follow these tips to make the most of your time here:
- Ensure you check out all the talks available to you, this will help you figure out anything that might be on your mind. Ask all the questions you have, there’s no such thing as a stupid question, especially when you’re making such a big decision in your life. You can find out more information about these talks in your Open Day pamphlet when you arrive.
- If you are not sure what course you would prefer to study, book multiple course talks, and speak to ambassadors about their experiences. This might give you an insight into what course would take your fancy. Also, have you looked into our 4-year courses? These allow you to do an integrated foundation year (Year 0) so you can figure out what course would suit you the best while at the University. If this is something that interests you, look out for the talk on the day.
- Talk to the ambassadors, we have a wealth of experience at the University. We are there on the day to answer any of your questions (that is why we are there). You can’t miss us, we are like walking beacons, catch us in our yellow t-shirts! I would also recommend going to a student Q&A; you might get some questions answered that you did not even think of.
- Have a look at the accommodation available before you arrive. You can book yourself onto a tour to look at the accommodation available whilst you’re waiting for talks. All the accommodation available is in walking distance from the University.
- Don’t forget to explore our city and campus, you can get a real understanding of what being a student at Norwich is like. Our city is rich, vibrant and known for being safe, full of culture and history. Explore why students love to come to our University and why many choose to stay in the city once they graduate.
“Norwich is called the city of stories for a reason, why don’t you come and start your story here.”
Indianna Williams, Student Ambassador
