Animation graduate awarded runner-up at Rookie of the Year
BA (Hons) Animation graduate Amber Iles wins runner-up in the prestigious Rookie of the Year awards in the 2D Animation category.
Founded in 2005, The Rookies is a global community platform for aspiring digital creatives aimed at supporting emerging talent and their journey into the creative field.
Selected by a panel of some of the most influential and respected experts in the creative industry — and recognised as one of the most prestigious global design and media competitions — the annual Rookie Awards represent the best in aspiring digital artists. The pinnacle award, The Rookie of the Year, is presented in 10 creative categories, with a winner and runner-up awarded in each discipline.
BA (Hons) Animation graduate Amber Iles was chosen out of over 4,400 global entries as runner-up in the 2D Animation category; after being scored highly by judges for her creative and technical skills, presentation, raw talent, and employment potential.
Her entry, Tardigrade, is a 2D Animated film created over the course of her final year on the BA (Hons) Animation course and follows a charismatic red character on a mission to create the illusive creature, the Tardigrade.
