Associate Technician – 3D Workshop (fixed-term)
At Norwich, we’re redefining what it means to make and create. Our vibrant, transdisciplinary approach blends traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge digital and emerging technologies. We empower students to push boundaries, explore bold ideas, and bring their creative visions to life in our state-of-the-art workshops and technical spaces.
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and imaginative Creative Maker to join our dynamic 3D Workshop Technical Team. If you thrive in hands-on environments and love working with materials like wood, metal, plastics, foam, and moulds—this is your chance to inspire the next generation of makers.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our creative community, guiding students through their projects, offering expert technical advice, and helping them master everything from hand tools and traditional techniques to modern fabrication methods like 3D printing. You’ll play a key part in their creative journey, helping them transform ideas into tangible, innovative outcomes.
Safety and creativity go hand-in-hand, and you’ll ensure our workshops are safe, well-equipped, and buzzing with energy. You’ll be joining a team of highly skilled, friendly, and supportive technical specialists who are passionate about making and mentoring.
We’re looking for someone with solid practical skills in one or more fabrication areas—wood, metal, plastics, foam forming, or mould making—and a deep understanding of how these materials shape creative processes. Most importantly, we want someone who’s enthusiastic, technically confident, and excited to grow with us.
