Jon Dunleavy wins British Animation Award
Jon Dunleavy’s film ‘Two Gracious Uncles Smooched to the Beat’ has won the Wildcard category in the British Animation Awards 2024.
Jon is course leader for the BA (Hons) Animation and BA (Hons) Animation and Visual Effects courses at Norwich University of the Arts. His film, ‘Two Gracious Uncles Smooched to the Beat’, is a philosophical debate on the legitimacy of art created by A.I. tools. It discusses to what extent A.I. can produce new ideas, and if it can capture the same genuine inventiveness that we celebrate in man-made artworks.
The British Animation Awards celebrate everything that’s great about the animation industry in the UK. The British Animation Awards 2024 winners were announced at a ceremony at the BFI South Bank. Winning an award recognises the very best work in the UK animation industry over the past two years.
