Norwich Graduate wins at TIGA Awards
Norwich graduate Szymon Garczynski wins Outstanding TIGA Graduate of the Year: Designer at the TIGA UK Games Education Awards 2023
Modified:
Szymon, who graduated from BA (Hons) Games Art and Design in 2023, overcame an extremely tough category with nine other graduates from universities across the UK to win the highly regarded industry accolade.
The finalists included several graduates from Norwich, spanning four separate categories. Salene Tarling and George Kee were shortlisted for Outstanding Graduate Artist, whilst Rhys Antony was shortlisted for Outstanding Graduate Audio. ‘Dog Walking Simulator’, a project produced for a collaboration with mental health charity Safe In Our World was a finalist for Creative Assembly Best Student Game 2023.
TIGA is the trade association that represents the UK’s video games industry. The TIGA UK Games Education Awards 2023 aim to promote outstanding students, education providers and best practice within the games sector. The committee determine winners of the awards on criteria including exam results, module grades and the quality of showreels, portfolios and projects undertaken.
