MA Creative Education at Norwich

I hope that you all had a good summer, and you are looking forward to the year ahead at Norwich University of the Arts. This welcome page tells you a little bit more about how to prepare and what to expect when you are here.

Introducing

Dr Mark Wilsher (Educational Development Coordinator) and Dr Kristy Campbell (Lecturer) will be your key contacts on the course. Both have a background in art and design, and have extensive experience in creative education.  We are looking forward to welcoming you to the new academic year.

The Culture of your MA Experience

As an entirely online course, the MA Creative Education places great emphasis on collaborative discussion and participation. As well as making learning impactful and interesting, this is designed to help build a sense of community within the cohort.

Your Postgraduate taught experience at Norwich University includes lectures, seminars, tutorials, group and 1:1 sessions with your tutors – all delivered online using Microsoft Teams. Each year we welcome leading experts to the course as visiting lecturers, who bring different perspectives and the latest pedagogic research.

Throughout your time with us you’ll also be invited to the Vice Chancellor’s series of high-profile visiting speakers, which you can watch online or attend in person if located in the area.

Welcome Session

Your first online session will formally welcome you to the University and the teaching staff and you will get an opportunity to meet other students on the course. You will be taken through the different software that you will be using to navigate the course and shown how to access or download useful tools including Office365 for free.

There will also be a short introduction to the digital library resources from e-learning specialist Librarian Lauren Elmore. This will help to make sure that you are able to get hold of any of the study resources you may require.

Reporting Absence

If for any reason you cannot attend the Welcome Session, please email m.wilsher@norwichuni.ac.uk and I will be able to advise. It is important that you report all absences throughout the year.

Checking Emails

It is important that you check your student emails regularly for important information, as this is the main way in which we will contact you throughout the year. You can contact your Course Administrator at qme@norwichuni.ac.uk.

We are all looking forward to welcoming you to Norwich University of the Arts and starting you on your MA journey. Sending very best wishes from myself and the entire team here at the university and wishing you every success in your studies.

We look forward to seeing you in September.

Best Wishes,

Dr Mark Wilsher

Educational Development Coordinator & MA Creative Education leader
